Adopt a marine animal

What it is

Symbolic adoption lets you support the project by linking yourself to a marine animal: an indicator species or an individual recognisable through photo-identification, such as a resident grouper. No animal is taken home and the sea is left untouched: it is a way to follow closely what the observations reveal. The project's species are on the Species page.

What you receive

• A digital certificate of adoption.
• Updates from the observations: news and stories about the adopted animal, told through the data collected at sea.

Where we stand

The feature is in preparation and is not active for now: it is not yet possible to adopt or pay online. To collect donations and issue receipts, a suitable legal entity is needed first, for example a promoting association or third-sector body. The choice affects receipts and the tax treatment, and has to be settled before the feature opens, together with the rules of symbolic adoption.
