How you will be able to support the project

• Donations, one-off or regular.
• Sponsorship by companies.
• Support for a location or for the schools programme.
• Symbolic adoption of a marine animal: see Adopt a marine animal.

Where we stand

These features are in preparation and are not active for now: it is not yet possible to donate or take out sponsorship online. To collect donations and issue receipts, a suitable legal entity is needed, for example a promoting association or third-sector body. The choice affects receipts and the tax treatment of donations, and has to be settled before the feature opens.

How the project is funded

Amounts will be worked out after discussion with the management bodies. The expected cost items are: scientific coordination and validation; training; field and teaching materials; dedicated outings and travel; insurance; development and upkeep of the platform; analysis, reports and communication; printing.

The planned sources of funding are:

• participation fees for research outings and courses;
• symbolic adoptions and donations from the website;
• corporate sponsors;
• contributions from the management bodies;
• regional, national and European calls on biodiversity, environmental education and schools (opportunities must be checked against open calls).
